the LORD Shall Make Thee the Head, Not the Tail

Deuteronomy 28

Verse Thirteen:

And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

When the LORD your God blesses you as He has promised, you will lend to many nations but borrow from none; you will rule over many nations but be ruled by none. He will set you high in praise and name and honor above all the nations He has made, and that you will be a holy people to the LORD your God as He promised.

You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. For what nation is so great as to have a god as near to them as the LORD our God is to us whenever we call on Him?

For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for His prized possession, above all peoples on the face of the earth. They will be called the Holy People, the Redeemed of The LORD; and you will be called Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken.

At that time I will bring you in; yes, at the time I will gather you. For I will give you fame and praise among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes before your eyes,” says the LORD.
