Deuteronomy 28 Project
Verse Seven:
The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
One of you can put a thousand to flight, because the LORD your God fights for you, just as He promised. How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?
And the other issued out of the city against them; so they were in the midst of Israel, some on this side, and some on that side: and they smote them, so that they let none of them remain or escape.
Five of you will pursue a hundred, and a hundred of you will pursue ten thousand, and your enemies will fall by the sword before you. Do not be afraid of them, for the LORD your God Himself will fight for you. For the LORD your God is He who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.
He found the fresh jawbone of a donkey, reached out his hand and took it, and struck down a thousand men. A thousand will take flight at the threat of one, at the threat of five you will flee, until you are left alone like a lone pole on a mountaintop, like a banner on a hill.
On that day the LORD will defend the residents of Jerusalem so that the weakest among them will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the Angel of the LORD going before them.
